I have come to the conclusion that the Internet is what I believe to be the perfect vehicle to allow people to take their lives back and “fund” living their Passions! Now – more than ever – you can live the life of your Dreams without compromise!

Where on earth did I come from?

Before I began my career as an Internet Marketing professional, I put in nearly 20 long years working in the field of industrial packaging—hey….. I admit it isn’t “sexy” or exactly mentally stimulating but it happens to be a very profitable industry (at least it was very much for me). But I must confess it that it was only the proverbial “golden handcuffs” of a great income that kept me at it for so long. However, one day I woke up (literally and Spiritually!) and looked around and realized that life was way, way, WAY too short to spend it doing things you hate to do (or even stuff you mildly tolerate) just for the Almighty Dollar! It became very clear to me that I was living what Henry David Thoreau had described as a “life of quiet desperation.” Yuck!

I wanted to LIVE WITH PASSION!

I wanted to roll out of bed in the morning excited about the day ahead of me! And I wanted to drag myself into my bedroom at night, crash into bed and drop off to sleep at night worn out from doing what I loved all day long!

“But was that a realistic aspiration?” I wondered. “A pipe-dream that others could live—but not me.”

It was somewhere around this time that I was introduced to the book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tollé. I’m sure you’re familiar with the saying, “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” Well, I was certainly ready for the concepts found within this book and it has had a massive transformation affect on me.

Now with a mind open, fertile and ready for new ideas to take seed, I began a Journey that turned my life upside down! (And I mean that in a good way.) Not every step of this process was “smooth sailin’” by any means as personal growth isn’t all just meditation and reading books. Sometimes we have to go through some …….um ….. uncomfortable stuff to really learn the lessons we need to become the person we aspire to be. (Yeah, I know ……….. nobody really wants to hear that.)

I had a Vision …..

At this stage a clear picture of the lifestyle I wanted to live was beginning to take shape in my mind – but I had NO CLUE how to get it! However, because I was very open and I would spend my days—even when I was going through my mundane work-days at the time – with this Expectation that doors were opening for me, a path was being made clear and all I had to do was simply keep my eyes open to see them when they showed up.

When you go through life with this mindset, you begin to observe opportunities almost everywhere you turn! But there are some important keys to this: Letting go of fear: fear of failure, fear of looking foolish, fear of the unknown, fear of losing what you already have, fear of change, even fear of success! You also have to let go of your pre-conceived ideas of what “opportunities” coming your way “should” look like.

This is why I often refer to The Power of Now – a completely NON-business book – as the most powerful book on Entrepreneurship I’ve ever read.

The Power of Living in the Present

When you begin to fully understand and internalize the Indisputable Truth that THIS MOMENT is all that is Real and that your past is just a memory trace that lives only in the chemistry of your brain (and highly subject to your interpretation of events and not necessarily the most accurate one either!), and the future is really only a figment of your imagination, then you can begin to step out of fear and take action – the right action – based on what truly makes sense in the moment. (Coming from this Mindset, your Intuition can be an incredibly powerful tool in your hands!) So, what stops you from taking the actions you need to live the life of your dreams?

Fear Of A Future Failure! Fear of losing what we have. Fear of looking stupid to others, etc. All In The Future! Either two minutes from now or two years from now, it doesn’t matter; same result: Getting Stalled.

And why do we experience so much fear? Because most of us walk around reliving the times we “failed” and/or embarrassed ourselves! We keep a running commentary of past painful experiences running in our heads ……….. blah, blah, blah! (Living in the imaginary past!)

The Truth? As Tony Robbins puts it: “The Past Does Not Equal the Future!” In fact, if you’ve learned the lessons that you needed to learn from the past, then you most certainly can and will have a different out-come next time around.

Here’s the thing. Those co-called “failures” that haunt you; they are only “failures” because you have labeled them as so. That painful first marriage that ended so badly; the time you lost your house to foreclosure; that time you lost all your savings speculating in the Stock market; the “Amway Years”; even that year you spent with that UFO cult lol!!! ……… whatever!

They’re not failures; They’re feed-back! Simply information that you needed to make adjustments on your path to your dream-life.

The only way they became failures is because you decided they were, labeled them as such in your mind and allowed them to stop you in your tracks on the way to living the life you’ve always wished you were living.

This is how people began to settle for lives of mediocrity and living Thoreau’s “lives of quiet desperation”.

Phew! ……. You can tell that this stuff is my Passion! (I was supposed to be sharing a little about me and got side-tracked along the way.)

Bottom line: When I began to understand these concepts and internalize them, I began to get to a place where I could take action without being paralyzed by fear!

Successful Entrepreneurs aren’t people who had it all figured out and just put their plan into action. Even if they had a solid business “plan”, the realities of business make it very clear that your best plans are only intended guidelines and must be open to revision if you’re going to succeed. Successful Entrepreneurs have a clearly envisioned outcome or goal, but along the way they’re prepared to do anything and everything necessary (that is honest and ethical and true to themselves!) to get that done!

 

Successful Entrepreneurs don’t get involved with a business and “hope” for success and give it the “old college try”. They hunger for success and will fall on their faces and learn from it time and time again until the achieve it.

Ewwww. Sounding Grim?

Okay, okay. I have to point out something very, VERY important here.

This is CRITICAL and where I take my departure from what most people view as the “traditional” model of success and entrepreneurship.

This idea of “battling through failure and finally triumphing in the end” may actually appeal to some of us and may even be motivating to a few ………….

But I personally feel that this view of the path and process to Success is what stops most people from ever getting going! They just aren’t prepared to go through all that damn pain.

That is where the principles and concepts in the book the Power of Now become so effective.

Suffering Is Optional.

The “sting” of so-called failure is absolutely optional. When you begin to truly live in the Present than Life STOPS being a “struggle to endure”. Suddenly your crazy battle to Success becomes a fun and exciting Journey!

And here’s why. Because you finally STOP living in the future! You stop trying to create an Identity for yourself that you can finally feel good about out of the “Successful You” of the future. You stop expecting your “future success” to save you from yourself!
 

Okay, That Sounds Weird; let me try to explain that.

If you live completely in this moment and completely LOVE who you are now and truly believe that who you are now is enough than you will live this moment in absolute Joy. Everything you need or want is here in the Now. You’re not looking for external things or circumstances or people to change to make you happy. You’re completely happy and joyful now!

When you’re in this Place you are in an incredible Position of Power! From this Position of Power your path to business success becomes an enjoyable, creative, challenging Game! And you will be SO much more effective at it with this mindset!

Successful Entrepreneurship requires you to be above all creative, flexible, resilient, energetic, Passionate and consistent. These are all attributes that flow from being in a state of Happiness and Enjoyment. All of them suffer or get stalled completely when you’re stressed, angry, frustrated, and NOT taking care of yourself.

Actually, in truth that isn’t what happened at all. This is my bio! You just met me in a way that is Truly Me! I’m Passionate about this stuff and I’m excited about sharing it with you. I yearn to see you living your Dream-Life!

I can’t think of anything more fun and fulfilling than helping you break down all of those barriers to your success – which are simply Illusions that live entirely between your ears.

And that’s what I’m all about. And also a very essential aspect of our Mind and Mechanics Mentors blog. Sure you’re going to get all of what I like to call the “nuts and bolts” of how to build a Profitable Online business. But through our own path to Success on the Internet (and in Life!), it has always come back to one thing: Mindset. What is going on “between your ears”.
 

The World is filled with people who know exactly “how” to be successful……………… but are not getting it done!

In all likelihood you don’t need to know more “stuff” (and if you need training on the details you’ll get it here!). You just need to GET INTO ACTION USING WHAT YOU KNOW!
